[Kenwood] sending and receiving rtty & amtor with Kam98

Hi Everyone
Please help.  I have a kenwood 2000 and a Kam 98 which i have interfaced =
with a cable from packetradio.com.  The tnc does not seem to want to =
demodulate a signal unless the rig is in FSK mode.  Should I be sending =
in that position also? Or should i have it in LSB.  If i do that though, =
the rig is sending on one frequency and receiveing on another.  Could =
