[Kenwood] notch filter and TS2000

WOnder if anyone has found a use for the auto notch
filter on the TS2000 yet?  Mine has yet to take out a
tone or heterodyne.  The beat cancel does excellent on
this, though. I thought that that was the purpose of a
notch filter.  What exactly does it do on the TS2000? 
Not complaining, just curious.
