[Kenwood] Copyright? or Wrong?

Over on the Collins reflector, they have secured the permission from
Rockwell- Collins to use their copyrighted material.
PacParts still sells Kenwood manuals , brand new, so there may be a
copyright still on them.
However, as I understand the situation, Xu was  going to post copies of
manuals he bought and paid for on a website he also paid for- all for no
financial gain to himself.
We all know that there are several individuals who regularly  copy  manuals
and sell the copies all over the internet,all the time, for a profit-rightly
or wrongly.  However, we are all in trouble if we are somehow in violation
of a copyright law that would extend past the original sale of the item
copyrighted.
I am not sure, however I think some of the existing and proposed legislation
would do just that in the case of DVD's 'etc, in the case of this Digital
Millennium Copyright Act-or what ever it is called.  Currently , there is a
case in the courts concerning the Adobe software company that should prove
very interesting depending on the outcome , and some new legislation has
been proposed.
We sell books, music and software over the internet and we have been
following these cases with interest.
