Hi Don and all other Kenwood list subscribers,

         This has always been a questionable item. I had an old Kenwood 
brochure that had both microphones in it with a description of both of 
them. I scanned it and put it up on the space that my ISP allows me for 
pics. To see what the actual difference is, just click on the link below.

         The original MC-60 had a 4 pin connector, no amp, and no up-down 
bar in the base. The MC-60A had an 8 pin connector, an amplifier in the 
base, and the up-down bar. They DID NOT change the base casting--only cut 
out the hole for the up-down bar. Both bases only have MC-60 cast into 
them. This should clear everything up.
