I use the 870 also it's the best thing going for Hi-Fi SSB, if you
really want to take FULL advantage of the transmit/receive audio
capabilities...

I Have owned an 870 for 3 years. A fine used one should fetch $1500+
depending on options.
It is a superb radio. If you want to take full advantage of the
transmit/receive audio capabilities, get an MC-90 mic and a good 4 to
8
inch Hi Fi speaker with  separate Midrange/Tweeter. ....
