[Kenwood] Feedback needed on the 870S

Greetings All,

I think this info will be usefull to all.

I Have owned an 870 for 3 years. A fine used one should fetch $1500+
depending on options.

It is a superb radio. If you want to take full advantage of the
transmit/receive audio capabilities, get an MC-90 mic and a good 4 to 8
inch Hi Fi speaker with  separate Midrange/Tweeter. Stay away from the
matching and pricy squawk box speakers and peaky commo mics.

 With the wide flat frequency response of the MC-90 and the 870's
ability to tailor audio, you have a winning combination.
