Prior to my retirement, I worked at a facility where we
had in excess of 40 R-5000 receivers and most would
exhibit this problem at some time or another - being in
a desert environment, it usually was not moisture but
loss of ground contact on the boards. Same with the
TS-440's we had on hand as well. Going thru and
tightening the screws holding the boards would usually
clear this problem - some of the screws were out 1
or more threads just over time usage.
So, one might try the this first - and don't forget to
tighten the screws on the display and the driver board.
