[Kenwood] TS-440 Problem

I have a TS-440 with a bit of a problem.

On receive I am noticing a high pitched whining noise riding along with the
receive audio.  When I turn the audio completely down, the noise disappears
also.

This to me is reminiscent of the whining caused by the display on a TS-130.
This noise, however, was coming from the display board itself.

Is this a common problem with the TS-440, and is there anything that can be
done about it?

I have yet to locate a service manual for the TS-440, so I'm flying blind on
this one....

Any thoughts?  Thanks!
