I am selling for a friend, he is not a ham, this is from a local estate.
TS-130SE. Kenwood fan on back. Kenwood mobile mike. Clearly been
mobile, the case paint is chipped, missing a few case screws, etc. I
put it on my power supply for a quick test, here is what I found:
powers up, digital display works fine.
put out 100 watts to my 40 meter antenna, SSB QSO, no problem, audio
sounded "fine" and received OK. Mike connector intermittent. S meter
rests at S5 most of the time, but receiver seems plenty sensitive right
on up to 10 meters (background noise rises when connecting an antenna
and I hear plenty of signals). Tested transmit on 20 - 10 with dummy
load, 100 watts output up until 10 meters, where it put out just around
40 watts. Intermittent audio output (goes up and down) - can press the
case and audio gets louder, let go, audio is lower. No extra filters.
Didn't test on CW, just SSB. Former owner passed away, don't have any
other history on the radio.
I need to sell this locally if possible. I'd like the buyer to come,
see, test. The rig needs work but looks like it has all the ingredients
needed to work fine.
