[Kenwood] TS570S(G) Audio woes

Is there a mod to improve the audio output of the 570S(G)? I have run the
Mic up to 100% and I added a MFJ-297 Amplified Desk Mic with the gain turned
all the way up and I have a TS50S with a Hand Mic (any Mic for that matter)
that gets consistently better reports ....

I am sure that this is not a common problem and having everything maxed out
is not the answer

Ideas or comments??
