Depending on what you're attempting to accomplish, you migth want to try using the SLOPE TUNE controls to narrow the bandwidth. Two 270Hz filters are quite sharp already...an external DSP may not help much. I have the DSP-100, a Timewave 599zx, and use 400Hz InRad IF filters...never really needed narrow CW filters...don't use CW too much! But, when 400Hz is too "wide", adjusting the high and low slope tuning controls narrowed the BW just enough without much loss. Don't usually use the 599zx on CW...it's OK, but not great. But, it really shines on SSB!
Someone on the board has a webpage dedicated to the TS-850 and he has audio plots of a pair of 2.1KHz filters narrowed down to about 500Hz...works quite well. Dig through the archives and you should be able to find the link.

Subject: [Kenwood] TS850 i-f filters
Hi all concerned:
I have the narrow (270Hz) c-w filters for both i-f's, and wonder whether it
would help to narrow the audio bw with, for example, an MFJ/other/NOTDSP100
outboard DSP unit.
If so, anything to look out for, re spl connections a/o connectors?
TIA!
