Yes, you can do that. But if you are a cw operator, go ahead and put the narrow filter in for cw. Bye the way, you can go into the menu and set it up so that you can use that narrow cw filter, in the USB/LSB modes for your digital operations such as PSK or even RTTY. It works great that way. I have found also that with the narrow cw filter in, and the "NR" button pushed, cw signals pop right out at you- even those I havent heard on the freq, before doing that. I have not hooked my old TS430s back up and checked it against the receiver of the TS570S yet, but I belive the 430 is more sensitive than the 570, and that also is what the book sez about the 570- not as sensative as other Kenwood receivers according to the figures. The "NR" seems to help in that case.
