My first thought is that it is their JOB to sell IRCs. I would insist upon i=
t.

My second thought is to send green stamps (U.S. dollar bills) instead 
of IRCs; they're cheaper than IRCs (presently $1.85) and almost 
universally accepted except for India and a few other countries where 
it is illegal to hold foreign (especially U.S.) currency. Usually, a 
single green stamp will suffice; Germany and a couple other countries 
require two green stamps to cover postage costs.

An alternative is to order stamps for a particular country; there's a 
couple vendors on the 'net. However, this is a time-consuming process.

My third thought is that this off-topic topic might make some Kenwood 
folk a little upset. I would suggest moving it to the DX-qsl eList or 
off-list if you have more questions:
