Hello Larry,
Back when I was chasing awards I never used IRC's but instead simply
enclosed $1 -or- $2 for each direct DX card I wanted. Of course with
stateside mgrs a simple SASE gets the job done.
There are a few countries that do not want $$$ but instead can only
work with IRC's -or- if you provide their local postage for them by
purchasing foreign stamps in advance.
However for the past couple years I have quit the paper card chase and
now use 100% electronic qsl's. Cheaper, faster, more secure, and now
also approved for DXCC. Check them out if you like at ...

The number of DX stations coming over to electronic qsl's is
staggering. One other aspect I really like is that it totally eliminates
corrupt foreign postal workers from stealing your qsl $$$ and also
trashing your card to boot....
