You CANNOT renew an expired ticket at the same time you request a vanity
call. Think about it.... You have to hold a valid license when you apply
for a vanity call and you just stated that your ticket is expired. As it
stands now, your application will be dismissed. Once it is dismissed you
can request a refund of the fee you paid.
So, here's what you need to do:
1) File an application to renew N7VWG (use "RM" - Renewal/Modification -
for the "Purpose").
2a) Once the renewal is granted by the FCC, AMEND your current incorrect
application to change the "Purpose" to MD if it hasn't already been
dismissed.
2b) If your current application has been dismissed, file a new vanity
application for the call of your choice (use "MD" - Modification - for
the "Purpose"). If you use anything other than "MD" for the "Purpose" on
a vanity callsign application, it WILL be dismissed. If you do have to
file a new vanity application you will have to pay another fee, however
you can request a refund of the fee for the dismissed application.
For more help regarding the vanity callsign apllication process and
processing status, go to www.vanityhq.com and look at the Help section.
Good luck.
