thanks to all who replied to my query (AT not functioning right) about
ten days ago.
problem solved (but read on for another one): someone at the sheriff's
ARES op center had disabled the AT on the menu (page 53,  first item).

(does this qualify the offender for an application of the WOUFF HONG)?

now ---AUDIO problem.  i need more help, please.
rig always functions in CW.
AUDIO ceases to function after 10-15 minutes of use.  all modes.
using dummy load, and experimenting with different modes; various power
levels; manual followed very carefully;
after several hours with rig turned off the AUDIO functions again.

again, CW functions just fine even after AUDIO quits.  (SWR always fine
....zilch)
neat, huh?
