[Kenwood] TS-430 won't TX

Chris,

I suggest that you check Q21 on the IF unit.  If this transistor is open
neither the SEND switch nor VOX will initiate transmit.  This transistor can
be damaged by shorting the RL line (to ground).  This can occur by
improperly inserting a plug into the transverter socket.  Q21 is a PNP
transistor and I have replaced it with switching transistor available from
Radio Shack.  I do not remember the Radio Shack part number.
