[Kenwood] Anyone know the best way to fix a Kenwood hand mic??

I've found that microphone to fail in the first hours out of the box. I
thread in a 1/4" long 4-40 self tapping screw in place of the foam
button and the several microphones I've fixed or suggested that fix
haven't failed since. Its important to adjust the screw so it doesn't
push the switch too hard. The credit card patch is interesting, but the
failure is that the foam is too wimpy to push the switch. Adding
thickness should make it work longer but I'm not convinced it will work
for years like the solid screw modification.
