[Kenwood] Anyone know the best way to fix a Kenwood hand mic??

For years people on the local repeaters keep complaining of my bad mic cable
and I got to
explain to them it is not the cable but a "PIA" Kenwood design of the
microphone. I by no
means am a weak man but that button keeps un-keying on it's own and since it
is silent I
don't know till' I hear static or the courtesy tone.

I removed the center rubber in the spring and it helped. Do you believe the
credit card
piece will help any more than that ?

Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve a problem with the VFO on a
TS-700SP?  As I turn the VFO, the frequency jumps all over the place.  If I
rock the VFO knob back and forth and keep tuning, I can eventually get it on
a particular frequency.  Works on FM, haven't tried it on SSB, but the
tuning method would just about make it unusable... Thanks!
