[Kenwood] Anyone know the best way to fix a Kenwood hand mic??

Steve,
you did not mention which hand mic you have or, what radio it came with. On the
chance it is a MC-53 series (the backlit DTMF hand mics that come with most
Kenwood mobiles) there is a fix for the PTT problem; open the mic housing and
you will find a small foam pad stuck to the PTT lever. Remove it and underneath
is a small hole. Install a short #2 screw or a small sheet metal screw no more
than 1/4" long. Before reassembly carefully check to make sure the screw head
does not protrude too much from the lever. Once assembled your PTT should work
fine because now the screw head is pushing the PTT switch instead of the foam.
