[Kenwood] TS830S mod help?

I recently purchased an 830 & would like to make the following improvements:

1.  I have found that moving the mode switch from CW-W to CW-N trips the vox 
even 
     with the vox gain in the minimum position.  My 830 has both the 8.33Mhz 
& 
     455khz 500hz filters but have noticed the same problem on another 830 
with only
     the 8.33Mhz 500hz installed.  Any ideas on a fix?

2.  I would like to be able to switch one of the two 500hz filters in & out 
of operation.
     I was thinking in terms of re-mounting one of them on a daughter board & 
switch-
     ing in/out with diodes.  Any thoughts?

3.  I would like to be able to stretch the current +/- 2khz range on the RIT. 
 +/- 5khz
     would be great but I would be happy to get even +/- 3khz.  Any solution?
