I think what you want is the KB-1.  It's a heavy aluminum knob that 
replaces the original plastic knob.  I have one on my 830 and the matching 
VFO-230.  As far as I know, Kenwood doesn't offer them anymore.  You'll 
have to find them on the used market.

Hi all, I have recently acquired 2 very nice TS-820S radios and 2 remote
VFOs. While I love the operation of the radios, I was wondering if any of

have found a matching Kenwood tuning knob, the correct size and color, that 

has a finger indention hole? I guess too many years of using other brands 
of
radios have me spoiled for quick frequency changes. I don't mind buying 
them
if I can find the right model/partnumber.
