[Kenwood] TS-850 PLL Fun

Hi Dave
  I am also working on an 850 with PLL problems. Mine is a different
problem, One of the DDS Chip's is bad and the radio goes unlocked in
receive, but locks & work's on Xmit.( lost the DL01 signal in receive) I
fixed it temporary by changing the register in the DDS chip, But the slope
tuning doesn't work right. The 850 has a history of trouble with the DDS
chips

You trouble might just be the trimmer cap itself or soldering connection or
maybe IC5 voltage regulator......  VCO 2 is separate from the main PLL ... I
just change the trimmer cap and resolder any suspected connection while in
there,   also check IC 5 too ........
