[Kenwood] 850 Problem

What's the most common cause of the 850's display wandering up and
down, with no knob movement? Starts and 7.030, goes up for a while, then
may go down for a while. Sometimes it stops.

Generally, I can fix it by taking the thing apart and reseating the leetle 
ribbon
cables. Seems to be worse when the humidity is higher.
