[Kenwood] TS-520S 9 Pin Plug Wiring

I know this may be a dumb question, but the TS-520S I recently bought is =
in transit to me at this time without the 9 pin plug for the EXT VFO =
socket.  I do not have a manual for the 520S yet, and a new 9 pin plug =
just arrived today.  My question is: on shorting pins 8 and 9 together =
to allow the internal vfo to work, do I count the pins on the plug like =
I am looking at the female socket on the radio and count clockwise?  I'm =
sure this is the way but just need assurance.  Thanks,
