Got this one, but it sounds worthy to me!

I was one of the lucky ones who worked FB8ZP in 1983 but didn't bother to
QSL then.  The real luck was in finding that the QSO was confirmed on LoTW
28 years later when I got serious about DXCC.  However, you can be sure I
will be in there calling like everyone else.

Everyone in the club who needs Amsterdam Island should not despair.  The
group that has been assembled for this effort is top drawer and is very
capable in erecting stations that can be heard and worked from Kansas.  Much
of the group participated in the South Orkney DXpedition a couple of years
ago and demonstrated their ability to organize, finance, and bring off a
successful DXpedition.  I expect much the same.

Russ - KØVXU

I agree - KCDX should support these guys

I would like to recommend that the KCDXC donate to the upcoming DXpedition
to Amsterdam Island group. It has several leaders that spoke at our W0DXCC
Convention directly involved in the effort. K0IR is the leader of the group
so we know it will be run in an appropriate way and give many KCDXC DXers a
new one!!

All I know about this is that Amsterdam Island is #4 on the DX most wanted
list.

In spite of the fact that it's in the middle of the Indian Ocean, pretty
much on the opposite side of the world from Kansas, and not likely to make
my log, it seems worth supporting.

Most of us spend $10 at Denny's every month, this is something if need be,
we could pass the hat on, it's not likely to happen again in many of our
lifetimes.

It is one of the three I need and I plan to make a personal contribution.  I

agree it meets all the requirements for a club contribution from KCDXC.  It
will

be run by a good bunch of guys.

I would be glad to support them with a donation through the club.

Like Eddy, I'm not likely to put them in my log but I will be trying.

Who was lucky to have worked FB8ZQ & FB8ZP back in 1983?

FB8ZP QSO's are even confirmed in LoTW.
