Anybody notice the date of this email from Mike...it says September 8, 2009. Maybe I've been in a coma for 3 months.

At the time, I said "No" because we had been offered up to $2000 seed money
from K4SX to start the project!! We had not even investigated the cost of
such a project at the time of informational presentation at the last club
meeting.
I really had no idea whether the club was interested in such a project when
I spoke at the meeting.
Since then, I was told by K4SX the boys in MN have already sold enough
tickets to cover their costs and it is still 7 weeks away!!
Now that several interested club members have held a meeting and the the
whole project really seems do able, I have changed my mind on the matter.
It was great to see club members working TOGETHER in a friendly and easy
going envirnoment, the way a club should!!
I can't think of a better way for the KCDXC to receive positive publicity
and bring some really highly respected people to our own area. It is a
proposed DX convention and we are a DX CLUB!
Regardless of what my wife says, I can change my mind or opinion on a
topic when I become more informed.
73, to all,
AB0X
PS: One other topic I have seen recently mentioned on the reflector is that
only the good DX programs can be seen at Dayton. This not true by any
means. I used to attend the Ham Com Convention in Dallas every year as I had
relatives who live there. I often saw better and more informative DX
programs at this convention than I did at Dayton in the same year. After the
first Ducie island DXpedition Tom Christian spoke at Ham Com and I had the
opportunity to sit down with him and talk at length about numerous DX items
as well as some of the history of his island.
There's a lot to be said for the small venue environment at a convention.

Let's be clear-I'm not against W0DXCC and wish it to be successful, but
strongly against KCDXC funds to be used to organize this financially
dangerous event. W0DXCC can and shall be pretty much independent
organization. Just find right people. Actually limiting organization of this
event mostly to KCDXC is will work against it in many ways. That is why I
think another reflector need to be created, advertised to as many W0 clubs
and be used for event organization and discussion. Bring some talent from
ALL W0 clubs! Separate meetings as well for all interested people.
-I have asked Mike during his W0DXCC presentation if KCDXC funds will be
used and he said 'No' in front of everyone. So Lee, don't lie.
-Club did not vote for W0DXCC endorsement or support-it was FYI only info.
-There are no info provided on how profitable previous events were, just a
word 'Yes' from someone who has no idea. Please provide info.
-Have no info on how much money is needed were money are planned to come
from and what it will be spend on. Please provide info.
-Also no info on how money will be made. Not the way any business should be
run. Please provide info.
