I'd not jump to conclusions with this.

If you're a college student, no money for holiday weekend to go home to the
folks,

Your bored in the dorm at 9:00 pm and there is nothing available to allow
you to put up antennas and a ham

Station, this could become a perfect companion. Being I was stationed
(while in the Air Force) at a

Classified location and I was not able to install a ham radio station (due
to security reasons) this would

Have most definitely become my friend...

Look with Eyes Open instead of Eyes with Tunnel Vision..

This is what ham radio is all about, ways to be creative, discover,
adventure it's all to the imagination of

The individual.

I find this very interesting and inspiring to realize people are out there
trying to formulate a means to enjoy

The hobby even if they are dealing with multiple restrictions etc.

I've had to setup 5 complete antenna stations for ham radio operators who
were handi-cap and unable to do anything

To get out and install a simple dipole or to even have the funds available
to purchase a radio because of medical

Expenses etc. Again its inspiration the encourages these people to remain
in touch with ham radio

One way or another.

We shouldn't judge the abilities of one ham station / method / CW / SSB / IP
/ ECHO LINK / FM Repeater or whatever

Means one chooses to formulate a method of communication to remain in touch
with their friends.

My opinion, you know how that goes (everybody has one) ... Now you have
mine.
