U no, that's why whenever it's election time I prefer to do a "absentee ballot" so I'm not hounded at the front door of the voting estabilshment by people telling me which way I should vote.. I figure I'm an American over 18, and I have a right to form my own opinion. And vote the way "I" want to vote. I feel that if you don't like the proposed constitution then vote NO.. Or if you feel that strongly then maybe you should've made yourself more available to be on the committee, I was at the meeting when Alex was asking for volunteers, and I didn't see alot of hands willingly go up in the air. My feelings, it is now to the point of where it is time to vote. We all had our chance to be a part of the committee, Whether it passes or not we will have to "deal with it".

Good Afternoon Everyone,
I've been encourage to vote on the proposed constitution and by laws. I must vote Nay as they currently are presented on the website. I encourage you to vote Nay as well.
The method put forth for making changes isn't satisfactory. I don't know how many times I've pointed this out to the committee (with examples of the changes that should be made), I finally gave up.
I don't want to saddle the club with documents that have so many areas that concern voting that are not clearly defined.
Some of the areas that STILL need work are below.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RE: CONSTITUTION,
Article I: Organization & Association,
I.III A three quarter (3/4) majority of the votes received is required for changes to the constitution.
This section doesn't belong here, it belongs in, and in fact is already in: Article VIII: Amendments VIII..I
Article III: Officers III.VI A three quarter (3/4) majority of the votes received is required for officer removal.
this reads, if only 1 vote is received and that vote is Aye, the officer would be removed.
Article VIII: Amendments
VIII.I This constitution may be amended by a three-quarters vote of the votes received. Proposals for amendments to the constitution shall be submitted in writing at a regular meeting and will be published in the newsletter and electronically via es-mail and the club website as amendments/changes to the constitution. Voting for those changes will be accepted until seven (7) days prior to the next monthly meeting at which time all voting will be closed. A three quarter (3/4) majority vote of the votes cast by the voting members shall be considered acceptance of the amendment/amendments. Results will be tabulated by the election committee and announced at the next regular meeting. Results will be published in the newsletter as well as electronically via es-mail
This also allows, if only 1 vote is received and that vote is Aye, the change would be approved .
If E voting, this should read:
A three quarter (3/4) majority vote of all members is required for changes to the constitution.
If voting at a meeting, this should read:
A three quarter (3/4) majority vote of the members present is required for changes to the constitution.
The 3/4 requirement is repeated in this article, remove the second occurrence.
RE: KCDXC By Laws:
7. For purposes of constituting a quorum for transaction of club business, a quorum shall consist of ten per cent (10%) of the membership or ten (10) members, excluding officers, in attendance at the meeting during which the business is to be transacted, whichever is less. Voting to change the Constitution, remove officers or members shall be conducted by electronic voting consisting of es-mail or via the members portal on the KCDXC website. Voting to transact club business or to amend club by-laws shall be conducted as stated in section ten (10) of the KCDXC by-laws.
For the purposes of E voting a quorum is all members in good standing. There should be two separate definitions.
8. Dues: Dues shall be collected by the club treasurer. The annual assessment for each calendar year will be decided by a quorum vote at a regular meeting.
With most organizations an assessment is in addition to the annual dues required for membership. and what is a quorum vote?
This should read:
The annual dues for each calendar year will be decided by a simple majority vote at a regular meeting.
10. Amendments to the by-laws or additional by-laws shall be created via motion made and seconded at regular monthly meeting. The motion will be voted on and must pass with a majority of members present provided there is a quorum.
You can't transact business unless a quorum exists. By-law changes usually require a 2/3 majority not a simple majority. Again, a majority of what, the members present or the members voting?
