Worked K3UL Bob Williamsport, PA at around 0940 last
night here, Heard K3UL and KJ2S Dick on 1.845.00 58
SSB at 9:20 UTC but they could not hear me, so went to
CW on 1.825.00 at 09:25 till 0930 but no luck, so
went to 7.161.00 and then asked K3UL to try CW on
1.825.50 again, did not hear him till I tune up to
1.827.00 he was 599 there so we made the contact.
Taken over 3 weeks to get this contact made...

Will make up a list of all the hams I have worked on
160, plus the times and dates etc.

Please note that there is a Digital signal from New
Zealand on 1.817.00 I hear it on 1.820.00 here. K3UL
and KJ2S say they hear it very well when conditions
are good. So listen on these freq, and note the time
it
is the strongest, This will give you a great beacon
Freq to listen to see when band conditions on 160 are
good to South Pacific. The digital signal is 59+20 to
30 here sometimes, It seems to be on all the time.
Reason I sometime have to move up from 1.825.50 on CW
because this signal is too loud.

My Room mate Dr Elisabeth is on a round the World trip
till first part of July so will try and listen and
call every night on the sked times, unless you hear
the band noise go down at a certain time on 160
meters.

Who said the band is dead?? PA and GA in the states is
not bad for a dead band, and please note I hear you
very well here between the static so put on some big
ears...

Times I will try and be on 160 meters and 40 meters

0415 to 0425 1.845.00 +- QRM SSB

0425 to 0430 1.825.50 +- QRM CW Send CW slow and
Clear

0430 to 0440 7.160.00 to 7.170.00 +- QRM SSB Seems to
be a radio station on 7.160.00 at this time

0915 to 0925 1.845.00 +- QRM SSB

0925 to 0930 1.825.50 +- QRM CW Send CW slow and
Clear

0930 to 0940 7.160.00 +- QRM SSB

Please note That I may be delayed going to 40 meters
if I'm working stations on 160 meters

Listen for the Digital signal on 1.817.00 to 1.820.00
for signal strength this signal coming from New
Zealand and seems to be on all the time I think.

Let me know when you hear it and how strong.

Regards
