IARU Contest:

It is amazing what happens when the "A Index" jumps from 4 to 40
overnight.  

My personal observations was that ten meters totally dead.  15 & 20
weren't bad but certainly not as good as last year.  Ths year was a
"Selective CW" effort.  Didn't work everybody, just DX.

The "funny band conditions" may have been the cause of the funny sounding
signals at AE9B and KU1CW (about 3x4).  I have heard both very loud
before & perhaps this year each was QRP but the pitch of the tone
"warbled" almost like Polar Flutter with an added unstable power supply.

Live & learn.  Somebody will straighten me out before the next meeting
