If it's not likely to be a "winning" entry, I'd just submit it as is and 
not worry about it. You'll get a penalty but at least you won't penalize 
those who made contact with you during your "overrun" time.

Whacking out 50 minutes worth of contacts is going to be obvious to the log 
checkers when your log is missing contacts from a bunch of other submitted 
logs during that time.
