Some of you may receive this twice if you're on the KCDXC reflector
Well guys.. the week has arrived.
Here's where we stand after a month and a half of toil by a lot of guys.
All the station equipment in on location except an SB200 amp which W0BR
(it's his amp) fired up and heard a resistor pop. He replaced what needed
to be replaced and said everything is working again and will have it back in
place before the contest. We will borrow the TL922A from the club station
tonight as a backup.
The rotor for the 15M tribander will not run with light guage wire so I'll
need to find another way. We think we'll be able to use the shield as a lead
so may have the solution but I still need to prove it.
The switching system designed for the beverage antenna system has a design
flaw. It turns out that the 4 way switches we were using were grounded in
the unused positions so both operators had to use the same beverage antenna
all the time. Lee is working on a solution for this one.
The computer for the 40M position doesn't recognize the sound card.
Everything networks great but the 40 M operator will have no vocal cords
left without a sound card for repeat CQ's. Rick (W0ZAP) is working on this
one.
The 160M verticals don't seem to want to tune adequately as a pair. I
trimmed one of the two a week ago and will trim the second this week if I
can find time. Lee's going to EMail W8JI and ask him what he thinks.
Everything else seems right on track. I think Jeannie has the following meal
schedule.
I know she doesn't want to be cooking continuously so here's a tenative
schedule.
Jeannie Breakfast at 8 AM, Lunch at 1PM, Dinner at 6PM
Friday > Pizza
Saturday> Coffee cake and muffins, Sandwiches, Brisket
Sunday> Eggs and hash Browns, hotdogs and chips
Tonight is the KCDXC club meeting at the Salvation Army building.
I know Bill has the TI9M presentation ready.. I guess we'll just clarify any
questions for the WPX at the meeting also. I hope everyone can attend.
KI0MB, Brian... how does your schedule look? You going to be able to fly in?
Thanks to ALL,
Tom AE9B
