Back a few years ago, AK0A and I were chatting and the subject of email
reflectors came up. The result is this list. That night I wrote AL/K3TKJ and
asked him to start this list for us. It was created as a timely exchange for
DX and contesting info. While it was moderately quiet, it did serve it's
purpose. While the exchanges in the past few months have been "spirited",
they have put me in a corner. And I am asking for your input, as this is
YOUR list, not mine.

At last months meeting, we discussed the "mood" of the emails that were
being exchanged. At that time, I stated that I would NOT unsubscribe or
"filter" the emails. That is still my general thinking, but in the last 24
hrs has made me question that statement. That's is where I need your help.

In the last day, I have seen 3 unsubscribes, and the one that hit home was a
phone call asking if I would take someone off the list. That person was
Jerry, W0WG. I have had phone conversations with a few of you (NO Tom, I am
NOT going to name names, if they want themselves to be known., they will let
you know), stating that they were tired of all the bitching and bickering
they have seen. I have asked what should be considered, and I have rcvd a
variety of suggestions.

Now, any problems I have encountered, I have tried to handle via private
email. That way the list doesn't have to be exposed to what could basically
be labeled as SPAM, if you were not aware of the whole conversation.
Unfortunately, it has been expanded to public and private emails.

ANYWAY, here is what are the options:

1) You guys decide if you would like ME to continue as list moderator, or
possibly appoint someone else to handle it. I would like to continue, but it
is up to the members of this list.

2) Put ALL emails to the list on "approve" where they come to me, and I
decide whether or not they are appropriate for the list. This is the way the
"Topband" reflector is run, which is due to a similar situation. I REALLY
don't want to do that, it would limit free exchange, but to keep
members...it is a possible solution.

3) If the "mood" or "Bashing" cannot be halted in a private email, then use
(in my opinion) the last resort. Remove the offender from the list. THIS
OPTION WOULD BE A LAST RESORT ONLY!!!

Please take the time to reply, as I need to know what you guys want. If you
do not wish to reply here, feel free to reply directly to me ( all comments
will be kept confidential). I can be reached at:
[email protected]
MAKE SURE OF THE ADDRESS YOU ARE SENDING TO BEFORE YOU HIT SEND!!!!

Just click on the above email and let me know. Please let me know before the
meeting, as I am sure this will be discussed.

Thanks for your time and hopefully your input.
