Kansas City DX Club presents an amateur radio emergency communications
preparedness event:

On Saturday September 13th from 6:00AM until Approximately 9:00 PM. The
Kansas City DX Club will be presenting a contesting event designed to
encourage more participation, training, and activity in the area of
emergency communications preparedness in our community. Recent disasters of
9-11, Arizona and Colorado Wildfires, and now flooding in Texas has brought
to the forefront the importance of emergency communications. Amateur Radio
operators around the world provide communications in these emergency and
many other public service events.

We encourage all local community members, amateur radio operators, news
media to join us at Associated Radio, 8012 Conser in Overland Park, KS 66204
where Kansas City DX Club members will be participating in the International
Amateur Radio Union (IARU) contest. The contest requires skills to complete
communications with other amateurs around the world in both Audio and Morse
Code modes of communication, under periodically chaotic environments.
Additional Headsets will be available for visitors to listen.
