You ran a CW contest with an SSB filter?? You really *are* a glutton for 
punishment...

They weren't; you just thought they were. About 10 stations will fit easily 
in the bandpass of a 2.4KHz SSB filter. So they just sounded like they were 
on top of each other. With a 250Hz filter, you don't hear anything but the 
station you're working (and of course AE9B if he's on the band...)

Get a 500Hz filter if you're going to do CW (or RTTY for that matter) - 
your ears will thank you for it. If your radio supports it, get a 250Hz also.
