This was truly an experience. First 160 effort. I was surprised at the
lack of activity from the west coast. It has been suggested by some that
it is perhaps an operator malfunction rather than lack of good radio or
receive antennas. S9 noise level makes for interesting copy, though
there were many who were 20 to 60 over S9.

I will be looking at a CW filter for the 570, if not that then a prybar &
a can of WD-40 to separate the call signs the next time.

The KD0FW antenna works well. With one exception every station I
answered who was calling CQ copied the call & section on the first go
around. I don't know why so many stations were on top of each other.

Much different than 20 meter CW so, will be much better prepared next
time. Can we perhaps see if they will make the next 160 contest earlier
in the day. This staying up so late is really hard on us "old guys".

If on the second evening I invited a friend over to introduce him to the
joys of 160 does that change my category to - Single op, Single op,
shared radio & antenna?? We were running two seperate logging programs on
two seperate computers with two individual callsigns.
