Terminated beverages "hear" in the direction thy're terminated
Unterminated beverages "hear" off both ends. Where do you plan to put up a
beverage?
Beverages shorter than about 1 wavelength don't have much gain. That means
you'll need at least 500 feet there are other scenarios but it's more than
just a hunk of wire laying out there. Good luck.
