[KCDXC] 160M for those who wonder

You may have noticed Alex that you got blasted on DX summit for being at
1.828 one day calling CQ. That guy was wrong. All of these "so called plans"
are "voluntary ":"gentlemen's agreements" and self policing is the way they
are to be adhered to. I believe that most top band operators will agree that
1.830 to 1.835 is a DX Window, everything else is fair game. Now having said
that.. I'm sure there will be "regulars" on the top band reflector, ripping
the contesters for being on the air over the weekend. It happens every year.
I listen on 160M all the time now and rarely (1 or 2 an hour sometimes more)
hear a CQ from anyone anywhere. I would rather have the band lit up with
tons of activity then sitting dormant as it does most of the time. So expect
(if you're on the top band reflector) to hear what terrible operators
everyone are and how 1000MP signals have Clicks and how people don't know
how to tune their amplifiers and all the other post contest garbage. I don't
think it's living on the edge to use your equipment nor is it living on the
edge to challenge the DX window. I just believe that one should steer clear
of 1.830-1.835 for the contest. Everything else is Fair Game.
Exchange is 5NN MO, 5NN KS
Good Luck,
Tom
