[KCDXC] ARRL Contests

Thanks for the vote of confidence Chuck..
But I'm pretty sure there is not a contesting segment of the KCDXC
Definitely not one in the ARRL contests
Only score I've seen in publication from KCDXC was 1999
I only started contesting 3 years ago. Only been licensed since 1997.
When I first started attending KCDXC meetings,I was hoping some of the KCDXC
years of contesting wisdom would rub off on me.
Certainly someone with more than 3 years experience can be found and that
knowledge passed along to some of us newcomers. I had Jerry W0WG out to the
house for a contest, Steve K0OU is a regular contest participant and SMCer,
Mike AB0X was nice enough to take me out to Fred Lindseys (No doubt he was a
contester) and a heck of a nice guy. But most everyone who used to contest
doesn't anymore. I will continue to not only be a member but also contribute
to the club through these educational emails... If you (or anyone else) find
my comments to be inacurate, I encourage you and everyone to make documented
corrections. I'm sure I make mistakes, Heck, I've only been licensed 5
years, only been a member of the KCDXC 1 year. I will also continue to write
the contesting segment of the KCDXC club newsletter, I want to continue to
contribute my fair share to the club. I really enjoyed the WPX but believe
it or not.. it was the first MULTI MULTI I have ever been part of. I think
most people experience a multi-multi from someone elses location before they
try it themselves. I put my ass on the line... I do participate.. I do
contribute to this club... I would sure like to see more participation.. but
for now.. we'll have to enter our scores for other affiliated clubs for ARRL
contests.
Lee said he was pretty sure the club had affiliation once.. but I know the
web site indicated otherwise currently. Maybe it was one of those things
that fell through the cracks. Maybe not enough guys paid dues and there
wasn't enough money to remain affiliated and also do Dayton? I don't know.
Speak if you know the answer.
