I've known Marty.. for some reason.. has never wanted to be associated with
Nine landers
(although he doesn't seem to mind operating at one's house)
And I understand that Alex wants some local Kudos for the KCDXC.. I do too
Here's the reality...
Without at least two other club submissions the club event doesn't even
exist for the KCDXC.

The Rules State:
XIII. Club Competition: A trophy will be awarded each year to the club that
has the highest aggregate scores from logs submitted by members. The club
must be a local group and not a national organization. Participation is
limited to members operating within a local geographical area (exception:
DXpeditions specially organized for operation in the contest and manned by
members). Indicate your club affiliation on the summary sheet or in the
CABRILLO file. To be eligible for an award, a minimum of three logs must be
received from a club.

I remember a year ago specifically asking the KCDXC about contesting and was
told that it is primarily a DX club.
I offered my help and began submitting contesting pages on the KCDXC
newsletter, (a little more than others have done)
I am whole heartedly involved in the KCDXC including dues. I just don't want
to waste team points, and wonder if anyone else is interested or as I put it
earlier (if anyone is opposed to being a memberof the SMC).
My local loyalties are with the KCDXC, my contest loyalties are with the SMC
As far as I know a contest branch of the KCXDC doesn't exist.. have I missed
something?
I'm not aware of any push or efforts to gather contest points on behalf of
the KCDXC contest operators on a regular basis.
K0OU, AE9B, have been submitting club scores for SMC for a while now.
Recently K0XM joined the SMC as well.
Let's clear the air and figure out where we are and where we would like to
go with this.

I'm inclined to not submit the club entry at all. But if it is going to be
submitted, I think it should not be wasted.

As for local club KUDOS.. I have already submitted an article and a
multi-multi picture to contesting.com in the article it explains the make-up
of the team as Contesters, DXers and local club member non-contesters.
I would like to encourage all those who "belong" to the KCDXC to submit the
dues used for award sponsorship and Dayton events. I would also like to
encourage everyone to attend some of the meetings.
