[K6NCG] Piece of K6NCG history - aircraft

Yes; after two attempts I was able to see the photos - did I really help
building that amp?
It looks awfully neat for me to have had much to do with it, unless I was useful
for going into
San Francisco to the stores on Market Street! I do remember those Saturday
forays to the
surplus stores (and other places too, sometimes) - lots of fun. Of course
gasoline only cost
30¢ a gallon then; I'm scared to guess what it costs in California now - bad
enough in Texas!
Anyway, it still looks good and I would bet it still works fine - those output
transformers are
really impressive looking on the back of the chassis! I's kind of surprised you
didn't build a
power supply with solid state rectifiers; maybe the 5AR4 was available in the
shack.
I still have my 1959 Sylvania tube manual, with a bunch of updates from
subsequent years
and it still comes in handy - yes I still have lots of tubes; I'm kind of a pack
rat!
Good looking plane; I never got a chance to fly one of those, although I do have
a little
jet time to my record; I got to fly an Air Force T-38 at Laughlin AFB back in
1976!
P.S. There is no E in my name; my Mama didn't raise me to be no opera - hi!
