[K6NCG] Checking in

Hi Dan,
What great websites!
I just spent the last hour or so browsing around them. We must have been at
boot camp in San Diego about the same time. I arrived there in late August,
I think my company # was 342.

I can't take credit for the K6NCG reflector or salvaging the K6NCG call
sign. That goes to Mike Blier, W6FFC (WA6URR while stationed on T.I. in
1964/65) and Mike Mitchell, W6RW (WB6FCE while stationed on T.I. in
1965/66). They used to have a web page up with a URL: containing TIARA
something, but the link I used to have to it fails so I don't know where it
is now.

You must have arrived at TI just as I was mustering out in the latter part
of 64. After browsing your journal and deck logs from the Stoddard I think
we were also in WestPac about the same times as well. After TI, I was
assigned to the USS Perkins DD-877 and we frequently steamed with the USS
Craig DD-855 and USS Uhlmann DD-687.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I may take a motorcycle trip up the
coast this summer. If it looks like I might be that far north I'll drop you
a line.
