[K6BW] Oscar 7 Satellite Contact (echoed from QRP-L)

Hi Roger,

I don't know much about it, think it did stop, but regenerated. Perhaps a UFO serviced it... anyway, it is still working on photo-cells. The batteries must have long ago stopped functioning.

Might be fun some day to at least hear its transmissions, if not send it a signal.

Bill

  Well, that was FUN!!

I just listened to a nice ascending pass from OSCAR 7, right overhead.
Copied several calls and a couple of CW qso's near the bottom of the
  downlink freq.
Not too bad for a formerly dead satellite that now works with NO batteries
  to help it out.
1974 to 2011. I would call that getting our money's worth!
Heck, I might have to break out the antennas and az/el rotor and get serious
  about it again! ;>)

I'll just do it with QRP...

If I can hear signals at 100mw then I guess I don't need much more than that
  in the uplink.

All QSO's are uploaded to LOTW and EQSL.
