This has little to do with Ham Radio, but is an interesting perspective on
our ability to send men to the Moon.

The Cray computer, which in the 80's cost about $3M to $4M had 100MB memory,
was comprised of a 64 bit processor running at 200 MHz, a black and white
video terminal or a thermal paper printer with an ASCII keyboard, 1200 baud
modem, and 4 each 10 MB hard drives and required a very large room to fit it
in, plus around 100,000 BTU of cooling.

A new computer is available today with 4GB of memory, a 1/4 Terabyte of
memory, a dual 64 bit processor running at 3 GHz clock, a cable modem
capable of over 100MB of download speed, millions of colors on a 22"
monitor, a local area network card for 100/1000MBit . Price? $500.

Happy Holidays!
