[K6BW] Sorry I have been out of touch

Hello everyone,

I am sorry I have been out of touch rather than posting an occasional hello.

On top of my nerve damage and chronic pain I've been having stomach pain
since July.  Doctors disagree about what is causing it and I haven't 
been feeling that great.  Although the pain isn't as bad as it was in 
July to mid August, but still no fun having it.

On the good news front, last Saturday I went to go take my Extra class 
test. 
You are allowed to miss 13 questions, I went over that by 4 more.

I was so close that I decided I would take it again, right there.  I was 
surprised
that I got the same number of questions wrong on the test.

However, I am more motivated than ever to take the test again as I feel 
I was so close to passing that with more studying, I will pass it.  I 
know Hamilton has a test in Oct or Nov. and if I can make it, I will do 
that one.  If not, I will try in December.  I will be keeping the k6bbq 
call though as it is a lot of fun.

After trying on and off again for some months, I finally got to work 
Charles, the VOA operator - S9SS - on Sao Tome & Principe last weekend.  
I did it with the Buddipole no less! 

Anyone interested in going mobile Oct 7 and/or 8th to be a multi-county 
rover for the CA QSO Party?    Otherwise I will be here in little old 
Marin, but thought a multi-op rover operation would be fun.  This is a 
good contest where we get to be the DX!

Dave, Congratulations again on you and your friend's great performance 
at WRTC in Brazil.

I hope everyone is doing well and having fun with ham radio.
