Hi guys,
   At Bill's request, here's a recap of last weekend's
contest:

Last weekend was the CQ 160M DX CW contest, and I
played around in it for a few hours both evenings.
Conditions were pretty good, although not great. I'm
still amazed at how well the simple sloping dipole
works on 160M.
In about 8 hours of operation, I made just over 500
QSOs. Worked all states was easy - in fact, I worked
atleast two people in every state. In addition, I
completed Worked All Continents, with QSOs in the
following areas:

North America:
USA, Canada, Alaska, Mexico, Belize, Bermuda, Cayman
Islands, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico
South America:
Curacao, Venezualia
Europe:
Azores
Africa:
Canary Islands, Madiera Islands
Oceania:
Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia
Asia:
Japan, Asiatic Russia, Mongolia

Conditions were fantastic into Asia, and I worked more
than 60 JA's, including many who were operating low
power (50W or less). I received many reports that I
was loud - very loud - and had "good ears" with the
three Beverage receiving antennas. Many discount JA's
as "easy" but it's still a 9,000+ km path!

Monday morning I woke up early, worked BX2AF in Taiwan
on 80m, and VR2MY in Hong Kong on 160m. VR2MY
reported that I was very loud, and the only Stateside
station to work him that day.

So far, I've worked about 45 countries on 160M in just
over a month. Not bad!

73, Dave N2NL
