Thank you Alan! Alan and I took a look at the Christmas star to determine
what would be needed to light it this season. Some of the light strings,
attached with duct-tape, has fallen away from the structure, and we
discovered one of the struts that make up the points of the star had snapped
and needs to be spliced.

Alan cleared the leaves from the drains in the front of the building and
opened the drainage trench along-side the tower to the back of the building.
Nicely done, just in time for the rain this week.

We also restrung the long, new 80-meter coax (thanks David for your
contribution!). The line runs from the 80-meter dipole (between the water
tower and the radio tower), along the outside supports of the building, and
down the hatch and into the wire trench inside. From there it is connected
to the antenna patch panel. It can be connected from there to any of the
equipment in the radio room. It is quite an antenna - 125' on one end and
70' on the other. Dave extended it for the low end of 80, but it works
quite well across the band. Bands are long right now, if you're interested
in lowband DX, now's the time and thanks to Dave, we have the antennas!

Hope to get more work done on the star this weekend. If you have any time,
possibly Saturday AM, please let me know so that we can set up a schedule.
