Hi Tim
I would agree that 7045 is a popular frequency, especially at 8:00 when
there appears to be a net opening on that frequency. I have listened to
7035 and it might work, but it seems to be very busy also. Bill, KF6RMK
suggested we move up the band. Bill, do you have any suggestions?
Of course there is also 80m which is probably our best bet. Also, we might
try 30 meters (10 MHz). It is a small band, believe CW/digital only.
Should be reachable with existing antennas using an antenna tuner.
I had difficulty copying Peter through the voice QRM tonight, but Alan was
copying ok, so think it is just the band conditions.
Glad the practice is continuing!

Subject: [K6BW] CW Practice Frequency
HI folks --
I turned on the rig about five minutes prior to first call for the practice
session, and there were several signals coming through. During the evening
practice we had a few incidents of QRM that tended to get in the way. After
the session, I heard another signal, very weak, calling someone else.
What I'd like to suggest is that we may have selected a popular frequency
for our sessions. Can I suggest we change the frequency we're using to see
if we can get a clearer channel? We've used 7.035 MHz without much problem,
and tonight it was clear prior to 7:00 pm.
I don't want us to change with no notice, so let's try 7.045 Wednesday night
and see how 7.035 (or any other you want to use) is? If we decide to change
we can do it with adequate notice to everyone.
Ideas? Reactions? Etc.
Tim
