Ol Murphy can be relied upon to always jump in.

Glad you found the problem, and the remedy!

Subject: [K6BW] Code Practice Tonight

Well, folks, I got egg on my face. Last night at the meeting I mentioned to
Bill that I had to connect and disconnect my antenna every time I went on
the air so we could lock the patio door. Well, I had a problem. By working
the connector so often I made the ground braid connection on the coax
connector intermittent. And that made the signal level float rather than
being referenced to a solid ground. After removing the connector and
resoldering it, the antenna is back!!!

This gave me problems receiving call signs tonight. I had AB6MT and KF6RMK
from previous sessions, but I couldn't get the other calls clearly. Sorry.

Glad to see the interest.
